We are looking for an Intermediate FBI Access Control/Security Specialist join our team in supporting the Federal Bureau of Investigation at various sites across Virginia. Responsibilities Control access to buildings and property, protect equipment and material, and perform interior and exterior facility security inspections as directed. Processing incoming Visitor Access Requests (VAR) and for entering the information into the appropriate database. Must coordinate VAR information with the appropriate FBI Security Division personnel. Preparing electronic communications (ECs) in Sentinel as required. Being responsible for outgoing clearance transfer procedures, obtain proxy access, and assist, as necessary. Processing FBI Limited Access Request (LAR) paperwork, including coordinating approvals/denials with the FBI Security Division, notifying appropriate point-of-contact, entering details into the database, and preparing associated EC. Issuing badges and IDs in accordance with policy and utilize the badge system as directed. Being responsible for the screening of visitors with an X-ray machine and a metal detector. Operating access control databases, including the FBI's Phoenix, SOPU Gatekeeper visitor database, Scattered Castles and/or Defense Information System for Security (DISS)verifications as requested. Preparing and distributing courier cards for FBI personnel and provided courier briefings. Initiating personnel security background investigations and reinvestigations maintaining a detailed record to track the progress of individual cases as well as to provide overall case statistics. Preparing periodic reports containing work statistics and accomplishments, as well as consolidating reports for FBI personnel and providing the final report to the Chief Security Officer. Serving as the Communications Security (COMSEC) backup. Conducting Asset Management System (AMS) entries and assist with AMS inventory. Assisting with the proper destruction of various types of media. Qualifications Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree with 3 years' experience OR a Highschool diploma with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in any security related field, such as industrial security, physical security, and computer/network security Skills in creating complex spreadsheets (i.e. Excel, etc.), in preparing briefings (i.e. PowerPoint, etc.), Word, and Adobe Acrobat The ability to communicate clearly; must be able to provide security briefings and debriefings; must be able to provide comprehensive written communications The ability to perform all duties in an extremely professional, customer-service oriented manner The ability to provide 24/7 support, which includes accountability in the event of weather storms, disaster relief and non-telework capabilities, when needed The Ability to implement the policies and procedures as outlined in the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
