Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), Nuclear Command and Control - Extremely Sensitive Information (NC2-ESI), North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and Special Access Required (SAR) programs.
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, systems analysis and/or systems architecture.
  • At least 12 years of experience in strategic deterrence and global strike planning, including in-depth knowledge of Nuclear Command and Control (NC2) and Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) operations and capabilities, strategic nuclear operations, joint integrated operations, joint warfighting doctrine, unified Combatant Command (CCMD) structure, and global command and control constructs.
  • Knowledge and experience in critical command and control requirements, inclusive of NC2 and NC3 operational capabilities and procedures.
  • Knowledge of national, Department of Defense (DoD), and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) guidance,  CJCS Emergency Action Procedures, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) Emergency Action Procedures, CJCS Instructions, and Presidential Policy Directives.  

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  •  Masters or PhD degree in engineering, systems analysis and/or systems architecture.
  •  5 years or more experience in supporting USSTRATCOM Global Operations Center (GOC) and/or other operations centers at Combatant Commands, Joint Staff, or DoD levels.
  •  Experience in the NC2 operational platforms, communications, and modes of operations.


Responsibilities

Performs a variety of complex systems engineering tasks applied to specialized GOC mission requirements and technology needs. Requires knowledge of internal and external USSTRATCOM GOC dependencies with ability to identify and optimize mission systems performance. Applies analytical and systematic approaches for advance planning and problem resolution of workflows, change management, and mission capability priorities. Tasks involve integration of processes, techniques and methodologies to resolve total system or technology problems. Assists system engineers in the solution of mission systems design problems. Requires knowledge of GOC mission systems and supporting infrastructure, such as: associated Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), routers, firewalls, network protocols, and other security and network operations and monitoring, vulnerability analysis, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), data encryption, key management, data warehousing, and data mining capabilities.
