The AUKUS, Submarines, and Industrial Base Group (ASIG), within the Sea, Land, Air Division, provides timely, objective, analytic assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis to NAVSEA Team Submarine program offices and key stakeholders surrounding submarine platform construction. Team Submarine unifies submarine platform procurement activities, which includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navy's top acquisition priority), the Virginia-class SSN program and the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine), to bring improved capabilities to our undersea forces. Analysts and Engineers supporting Team Submarine will continue SPA's decades of support to the SSBN force, as well as supporting oversight of cutting-edge attack submarine construction, assisting in developing the design requirements for the SSN platform of the future, and helping plan and execute new and innovative strategies to strengthen the critical submarine shipbuilding industrial base. These are high-profile, major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition. #MC Responsibilities SPA is seeking an outgoing, detail-oriented, self-starter to provide technical and programmatic support to the SSBN In-Service Program Office (PMS396). The Technical Program nalyst (TPA) will play a key role in supporting the Fleet and Technical Support APM within PMS396, responsible for providing technical logistics guidance to the in-service submarine Fleet. Specifically, this role will provide direct support technical and programmatic support to the PMS396 Diesel Logistician, who serves as the primary point of contact for matters related to SSGN/SSBN/SSN Diesel support. The TPA will work to support modernization and sustainment efforts for submarine diesel engines across all submarine classes by ensuring the efficient procurement, transportation, storage, and distribution of diesel engines and related components. Efforts may include piece part coordination and support, maintenance material planning development and execution, modernization material tracking in support of installation, and more strategic efforts aimed at resolving known Fleet issues or rolling cannibalizations. Key Responsibilities: Address material obsolescence, manage diesel engine spare parts procurement, maintain inventory databases, and oversee rotatable pool programs. Monitor stock levels, establish reorder points, and prevent shortages of critical parts and equipment. Facilitate transportation of diesel engine components while ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure technical compatibility and assist in solving logistical challenges for diesel engine systems. Prepare and maintain detailed reports, purchase records, and shipping documents, ensuring regulatory compliance. Coordinate with internal and external partners, acting as the main contact for urgent logistical inquiries and alignment of goals. Analyze processes, implement enhancements, and deliver cost-effective logistical solutions. This position is located at the client site in the Washington Navy Yard and offers the potential for light telework. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a technical or a related field 5+ years' proven experience in logistics operations, ideally within the Federal Supply System, including translating technical feedback into actionable procurement, repair, and inventory decisions Skilled in logistics and inventory management tools, such as N-ERP, Haystack, PIEE, PDREP, eCANNAB, ISARP, and NSLC systems Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills to optimize logistics and supply chain processes Ability to work effectively under pressure and navigate rapidly changing circumstances Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities for collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders Knowledge to ensure alignment of technical decisions with DoD Supply System operations At SPA, we strive to deliver a robust total compensation package that will attract and retain top talent.
