Funded by the Massachusetts Department of Youth Services, Bright Futures is a youth-centered, family-focused residential substance abuse treatment program for twelve to fourteen male youth in Methuen, Massachusetts. Utilizing a strengths-based, trauma-informed, individualized approach, Bright Futures teaches youth the skills necessary to maintain drug-free, pro-social lifestyles. Programming is designed to address the numerous issues that are known contributors to substance abuse and delinquency, such as family functioning, interpersonal relations, impulse control, poor decision-making skills, thrill seeking behaviors and responses to authority.
The Recovery Specialist II helps to maintain the safety and security of residents and staff on assigned shift; assumes primary shift supervision responsibility in absence of Recovery Specialist III; responds promptly and professionally to emergencies; monitors youth activity and program schedules. The RSII also ensures Shift Security audits, log entries, and alerts are up to date and complete; participates in physical restraints as necessary, and coordinates the completion of the intake process. This position may be required to work mandatory overtime to meet program needs.
Schedule has varying hours between 1st & 2nd shifts.
- One to three years, or equivalent experience, in a direct care facility working with youth preferred.
- The ability to model appropriate interactions for clients and ability to communicate effectively with clients to ensure that procedures are followed and order maintained is required.
- Applicant must be 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
