Please note that this role can be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Newcastle.

What You Will Get To Do:           

As a Program Planner you will work alongside Program Managers, Project Managers and Delivery Teams to build and manage program schedule, providing expertise and advice on planning, scheduling, and dependency management alongside producing reporting and progress tracking summaries to ensure the successful delivery of the program.

In this role, you will be responsible for producing and maintaining the overall program schedule including the following key responsibilities.

  • Create and maintain the schedules for a large multi-year program.
  • Establish and maintain an operating rhythm to enable progress in line with the critical path and to report on variances.
  • Manage the baseline and variances, working with stakeholders to ensure appropriate change governance is followed, identifying flow-on impacts on changes.
  • Identify major milestones, artefacts/deliverables, decision points, and other key events.
  • Identify the critical path for initiatives and understand the connection to other work within the portfolio overall critical path.
  • Facilitate planning and dependency workshops to ensure programs are well sequenced, dependencies elicited, and management plans in place.
  • Provide expertise and advice on planning and scheduling to ensure the optimum delivery of programs/projects.
  • Provide recommendations for alternative options, or raise concerns based on assessments of schedules and sequence. 
  • Track, monitor, and report on the status of the project schedule, recommending appropriate governance and remediation.
  • Identify Risk and Issues based on schedule performance and upcoming activities.
  • Communicate effectively and build strong relationships with all key stakeholders both internal and external.

What You Will Bring:

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, confidence in liaising with people at all levels.
  • Strong Excel, PowerPoint, Word and JIRA skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration fostering positive engagement.
  • Able to identify and prioritise stakeholders' needs and expectations and incorporate them into plans.
  • Capable of adjusting project plans and strategies while maintaining focus on project objectives and deliverables
  • Previous experience on large, multi-stream transition and large-scale transformation programs is an advantage.
  • Previous experience within financial services is an advantage.
