Senior Director of Reconciliation and Cash Payment Processing – Retail Alternatives Transfer Agency

Location: Boston MA | HYBRID

We are seeking a Senior Director of Reconciliation and Cash Payment Processing to lead operations within our Retail Alts Transfer Agency. This role focuses on driving modernization, operational excellence, and risk reduction across bank reconciliation and cash payment processes.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in transfer agency operations, custodial banking, and exception management, along with a strong track record of leading teams and delivering process and technology improvements. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring strong communication, change management, and stakeholder engagement skills.

You will lead a team, oversee critical operations, and drive scalable improvements that enhance service quality and efficiency. This role requires a hands-on leader who can translate complex processes into actionable strategies and lead transformation initiatives across people, process, and technology.

What You Will Get To Do: 

  • Lead bank reconciliation and cash payment operations, driving efficiency, risk reduction, and service improvement
  • Manage and develop a high-performing team while promoting continuous improvement
  • Act as primary escalation point and ensure timely resolution of issues
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and transformation teams to support strategic initiatives
  • Represent the organization in client discussions related to cash management and reconciliation
  • Strengthen relationships with custodial banking partners and optimize service delivery
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, scale operations, and generate value
  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of key initiatives, including planning, implementation, and rollout
  • Ensure procedures, training, and controls are current and effective
  • Communicate updates and insights to senior leadership, clients, and partners

What You Will Bring: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 15+ years of leadership experience in financial services, with expertise in bank reconciliation and cash management
  • Proven experience leading large-scale transformation initiatives
  • Strong ability to influence stakeholders and drive organizational change
  • Commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft tools and operational technologies
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and people development skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in complex, fast-paced environments
  • Willingnes to travel domestically 25–50%, including client meetings.

Salary/wage rate is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, job related knowledge, skills, abilities, business needs, and geographic regions.

In addition to their salary, successful candidates may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus and stock options.

Actual base salary will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, prior experience, education, demonstrated performance, and geographic location. Massachusetts: The expected base salary for the position is between $130,000 USD to $210,000 USD.
