The Electronic Security Systems Technician will assist in the installation, operation, maintenance and monitoring of the Electronic Security Systems (ESS) at the Vermont Army National Guard facilities in Colchester. Equipment includes closed-circuit television, electronic entry and access control, as well as intercoms and other ES systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in the installation and maintenance of security system equipment, including proficiency with current IT related technology. The hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm, with on-call and weekend hours as needed.
This position is set to last through 09/30/2024 with anticipated continued funding.Who May Apply

This is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized for a specific period of time. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

Special Requirements: Incumbents of this job are issued a Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC), which is issued only upon passing a federal background check (Tier 1) including a fingerprint-supported criminal record check. Candidates must obtain the CAC for successful completion of original probation. Possession of the CAC is a condition of employment. Additionally, Incumbents of this job may be required to view and access classified information, therefore a favorably adjudicated (Tier 3) Secret Clearance may be required.
Duties will be performed inside buildings and outside exposed to the weather at all times of the year. Work might be performed at locations in various stages of construction. On occasion work will be performed above ground from ladders or mechanical lifts. Statewide travel is required.Minimum Qualifications
Three (3) or more years of experience in the installation, operation and maintenance of Electronic Security Systems devices and equipment.Special Requirements
Must possess a current valid drivers' license.
Must receive a favorable National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI).
