Overview

The Vermont Department of Liquor and Lottery (DLL) is seeking an analytically minded, detail-oriented professional to join our accounting team as the Financial Administrator II for the Lottery Enterprise Fund. This position supports Vermont Lottery financial operations while ensuring compliance with accounting best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile general ledger and bank accounts for the Lottery Enterprise Fund
  • Prepare accounting entries to accurately reflect Vermont Lottery business activities
  • Manage the collection and reconciliation of weekly sales revenue from Vermont Lottery agents
  • Provide samples and documentation for external audits
  • Support internal departments with data requests
  • Aptitude for learning and efficiency using automated systems
  • Support improvements and enhancements to Lottery Gaming System software suite
  • Support vendor efforts to meet Vermont Lottery's annual tax reporting requirements

As of July 12, 2026, the step 1 rate for pay grade 23 will be $28.05 per hour and the step 15 rate will be $43.80 per hour.

Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a standard office setting.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting AND one (1) year or more of professional experience in accounting involving maintaining, reviewing, and analyzing accounting or financial data and records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting practices and standards.

 

OR

 

Two years of full-time college coursework OR an Associate's degree in accounting, business administration, office administration or a related field AND three (3) years or more of professional experience in accounting involving maintaining, reviewing, and analyzing accounting or financial data and records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting practices and standards.

 

OR

 

High School diploma or equivalent AND four (4) years or more of professional experience in accounting involving maintaining, reviewing, and analyzing accounting or financial data and records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting practices and standards.

 

OR

 

One (1) year or more as a Financial Administrator I with the State of Vermont.

OR

Certification as a CPA.

Preferred Qualifications

For some positions preference may be given to applicants with supervisory experience.

Special Requirements

For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required.
