Overview

The Vermont Department of Liquor & Lottery (DLL) oversees two statewide enterprises - 802Spirits and the Vermont Lottery - and plays a key role in public policy, regulatory oversight, consumer education, and statewide marketing initiatives. Our work sits at the intersection of public service, business operations, and community impact.

 

We're seeking a motivated intern who is excited to dive into real projects that span policy analysis, strategic communications, content creation, and enterprise-level marketing. This is a hands-on role with meaningful exposure to state government, regulatory systems, and brand strategy.

 

This role is expected to be 20 hours a week, with flexibility to match someone's courseload.

 

Candidates should have:

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Experience in social media management or web content management
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

 

Preference will be given to candidates currently enrolled in courses in communications, marketing, or simiilarly related fields.  

Who May Apply

This position, Paid Internship - Liquor & Lottery - Temporary (Job Requisition #53905), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours, and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.
