I. Job Summary The load puller (forklift operator) is responsible for preparing, packaging, and the loading of materials onto our trucks for delivery. The individual must be able to interact well with fellow associates and customers. It requires knowledge of building materials, loading and unloading procedures, maintaining of company equipment (forklift), filling out preventative maintenance logs, and adhering to safety procedures. Also performs various duties while in the yard, such as keeping assigned areas clean and loading customers. Friendly and courteous driving and personal habits are needed. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities A. Must be familiar and in compliance with Stine Policies and Procedures B. Fill out driver's inspection report form (on forklift you are using that particular day) first thing each morning. C. Be familiar with how and in which order materials are used on a job so it can be properly loaded. D. Pulls loads for deliveries and band all material necessary with metal banding material. Note: Count on lumber must be accurate -- double-check count to keep from having to add or subtract from a unit already banded together. E. Unload incoming freight trucks for receiving clerk. F. Unload and load store-to-store transfer trucks. G. Unload incoming Stine trucks with returned materials picked up from job sites. H. Rotate old stock in front of new. I. Help keep yard area clean and orderly. J. Help load customers when able. The above duties are not intended, nor should they be considered, a complete list of responsibilities. Education: Basic education which includes ability to competently read and write. B. Training and Experience: Also have some experience with building materials recommended. C. Job Knowledge: Driving skills and building material knowledge is preferred. D. Physical Demands: Work requires much physical effort; involves sitting, standing, walking, and some heavy lifting on a regular basis. Works in a non-air-conditioned environment.
