Tetra Tech offers competitive compensation and benefits and is searching for creative, innovative people to join our teams in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Specifically, we are seeking outstanding candidates for a business development focused Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) position in one of our 14 offices in New Jersey, New York, and eastern Pennsylvania.

Your Role:

Tetra Tech has an immediate opening for an BD focused LSRP with expertise in guiding cases through the Site Remediation Program in New Jersey, from the preliminary assessment and site investigation stage through remedial investigation, remedial action planning and implementation, and regulatory case closure. Equally important for this position is providing client management services and helping to expand our Environmental Remediation Practice business in the Mid-Atlantic region.  The successful candidate will have established strong client connections.  SWE has an expectation that these relationships will be maintained during the candidate's transition to SWE and that the candidate will leverage these relationships to develop a portion of their project portfolio.

This candidate must be able to bring clients with them and have proven track record of growing business and client support.

The LSRP position opened because our environmental remediation business is expanding rapidly in the region and because our projects are complex and highly technical, requiring several LSRPs to manage effectively. Tetra Tech's remediation services include many complex sites that include remediation of both dense and light separate phase liquids (LNAPL and DNAPL), impacted groundwater in bedrock and tidally-influenced groundwater settings, and impacted shallow freshwater and saline sediments.  Our clients include both public and private sector organizations, including several Fortune 500 companies.  This position will provide an opportunity for career growth while working on challenging and interesting projects.  We expect that the role will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

·         Manage multi-disciplinary projects while working either within a group or independently.

·         Develop new business using existing or new client relationships.  In supporting the growth of our Environmental Remediation  Practice, prepare proposals, evaluate levels of effort, and estimate project cost.

·         Mentor junior project team members.

·         Act as LSRP of Record for multiple cases, on multiple project sites, and for multiple clients.  Manage your workload effectively to complete document review, project management tasks (if both the LSRP and project manager for a site), and other tasks on schedule.

·         Prioritize activities and submittals to ensure each progresses towards regulatory case closure in accordance with the project schedule and NJDEP regulatory and mandatory timeframes.

·         For projects where the LSRP is not the project manager, assist the project manager in developing a project schedule and remedial strategy.  The project manager will handle primary project communications.

·         For projects where the LSRP is the project manager,

o   Periodically and as needed, discuss with the client the project goals, project schedule, and remedial strategy.

o   Maintain project schedule and budget.

o   Prepare subcontractor agreements, adhere to client health and safety (and other) policies, and ensure the work is completed.

o   Assist field staff with overcoming unexpected field conditions as they develop, solving such issues in real-time or directing the staff to the appropriate member of the project team.

o   Coordinate data management with the project team, including the database manager as needed.

o   On an as-needed basis, manage fieldwork, including assigning subcontractor and staff work, in consultation with our health and safety professionals. This may at times require field oversight.

·         Make the client and/or project manager aware of recent and proposed regulatory changes, including changes to guidance documents, changes to forms, and changes to NJDEP review timeframes, among other things.

·         Review information and documents generated by the project team, subcontractors, consultants for other potentially responsible parties, and other entities as needed.  Relay comments and questions to the client and others as needed.

·         Once Site Remediation Program documents, forms, and other submittals are finalized, complete LSRP certification requirements.

·         Participate in periodic project team and client communications on a weekly, monthly, or as-needed basis.

·         Coordinate and participate in meetings with the NJDEP.  Respond to NJDEP comments in a timely manner, after discussing the responses with the client and the project team.

·         Complete all activities listed above in accordance with the LSRP code of conduct.

Qualifications:

  • Requires ability to bring work and clients with the candidate. Proven track record of building and growing LSRP clients and business.

·         Requires a Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or other closely related field.

·         The successful candidate must hold a valid Licensed Site Remediation Professional licensure in New Jersey.

·         Requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental remediation services.  Between 10 and 20 years of experience is preferred.

·         Requires demonstrated skills to assess client needs, develop staff capabilities, make recommendations, and help manage and grow remediation services.

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English, is required.

·         Requires computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.

·         Requires the ability to work in a team setting or individually.

·         Requires a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for local and regional travel to sites, Tetra Tech offices, and client offices, on an as-needed basis.

·         Requires broad knowledge of regulations and guidance related to site remediation in New Jersey, including with the Industrial Site Recovery Act (ISRA), Underground Storage Tank (UST) remediation, and the New Jersey Spill Act.

·         Awareness of when environmental permits may be required is preferred.

·         Experience in preparing partial or complete NJDEP Land Use permits is preferred.

·         Experience conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Preliminary Assessments is preferred.

·         Knowledge of site remediation under programs and projects overseen by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP), and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is preferred.

·         Willingness to work in one of Tetra Tech's offices is preferred but not required; hybrid and remote work situations are possible, with the understanding that reporting to an office setting or field setting will be required at times.

·         Experience with other software such as AutoCAD, RACER, Microsoft Access, HEC RAS, EnviroInsite, Arc-GIS, BIOCHLOR, ProUCL, or other related software a plus.
