The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is adding an Electrical EIT to join our design team based in Ann Arbor, MI. This individual will assist in designing Electrical Systems for Critical Infrastructure. Critical Infrastructure has a primary focus on municipal and industrial water/wastewater treatment facilities, such as drinking water plants, sanitary sewer plants, and pumping stations. Other areas of work within Critical Infrastructure include Solid Waste Facilities and Department of Transportation projects.

Your Role:
Assist in the design of electrical systems, including low and medium-voltage power distribution, motor controls, lighting, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and process controls, voice/data communications, fiber optics, emergency power systems, UPS, security systems, CCTV, and fire alarm systems
Collaborate with senior engineers and project teams on electrical system designs for municipal and industrial water/wastewater facilities from concept to completion
Modify and review production drawings for water, wastewater, and industrial applications under the direction of senior engineers
Support senior engineers in preparing electrical studies, including power supply, short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies
Conduct field inspections, measurements, and assist with calculations for public and private clients
Help develop cost estimates for electrical systems during various project phases
Provide assistance during construction administration, including reviewing manufacturer shop drawing submittals, responding to requests for information (RFI), and helping with change order reviews
Participate in cross-disciplinary collaboration with teams from multiple office locations

Learn from and support senior engineers in mentoring assistant-level engineers and improving technical skills
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related degree (Mechanical with a minor in Electrical) from an ABET-accredited program preferred. Consideration will be given to candidates in their final year of school
Understanding of Engineering Ethics
Curiosity
Other Recognized Qualifications:
Successful completion of FE/EIT
Familiar with CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Plant 3D)
Familiar with SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower
Familiar with AGi32 or Visual Lighting
Knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures
Application of codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA 820, NFPA 70E, or ISA
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam Revu
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills
Reasonably estimate level of effort required to perform electrical design tasks
Must be able to provide responses to RFIs
Provide construction administration support including review of construction submittals for compliance with project documents, response to contractor RFIs and inspection of completed work for compliance with construction documents
Accurately estimate electrical construction costs at various levels of project development
