Tetra Tech invites you to consider a rewarding opportunity within our Portage, MI office as a/n Ground Water Treatment Plant Operator.
Primary responsibilities will include treatment system operation, routine sampling, monitoring well gauging, reporting and management of the site. System includes: aeration, polymer enhanced flocculation, pH adjustment, particulate filtration and granulated activated carbon. Operator will be responsible with maintaining the treatment systems, tracking system performance and making recommendations for system improvements. Operator will be responsible for making minor repairs and coordinating larger repairs and upgrades with management and outside contractors.
Familiarity and experience with each treatment system component is required. Applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of groundwater (or wastewater) treatment system experience.
Applicant must have excellent writing and verbal communication skills, and current HAZWOPER certification and training. Working knowledge of electrical and plumbing
Candidate shall have a high school degree. A bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry engineering, geology or hydrogeology is preferred.
