Your Role:

 
We are currently seeking a Junior Software Programmer/Developer for our Pickering office. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Programming – utilize programming languages

-C#, C# for Winforms

-AJAX, JSON, HTML, CSS, CGI, ASP

- VBA, VB.NET considered an asset

  • Databases – design and implement a databases

-MS Access

-MSSQL, SQL, SQL Server, SQL Queries and Stored procedures

-Knowledge of Oracle in an asset

  • Experience developing windows desktop applications
  • Experience with software development
  • Conducts moderately complex systems analysis and programming activities related to the development, maintenance, and/or installation of web applications.
  • Excel – track and monitor predetermined set of data points in a spreadsheet with greater than 1,000 rows or columns using macros, Visual Basic, and advanced formulas
  • Designs, develops, troubleshoots, debugs, configures and maintains website(s) for internal and external communications for the company and/or for external customers and clients. 
  • Develops, assesses, and communicates website usage and security policies and procedures.
  • Provides written design documents, test plans and test results.
  • Prepares technical documentation and maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. 
  • Ensures website(s) is available to the desired audience with appropriate links and security.
  • Understand the interface requirements of IIS and Windows Server environment and dependencies as they relate to, among other things, creating, storing, and securing content.
  • Designs web page layout, graphics, color themes and infrastructure to maintain a cohesive internal website based on the organization's strategies and goals using a variety of software applications, techniques and tools.
  • Word – creating, manipulating, organizing and formatting large, complex documents
  • Powerpoint – creating, manipulating, organizing and formatting large, complex presentation
  • Must be able to obtain security clearance

 

Qualifications:

 

  • University Degree is considered an asset
  • 1-3 years of related experience in software programming is considered an asset
  • Interfaces directly with customers, users, graphic designers, and web content specialists to ensure that needs are technically feasible and meet customer strategy and goal.
  • Good verbal/written communication and Interpersonal skills along with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Excel – advanced formulas, macro's, advanced analytics (trending/splicing, graphing
  • Word - Organize and format a large, complex document
  • Powerpoint - Organize and format a large, complex presentation
  • Must be able to work as part of a multi-disciplined team

 

This is a 1-year contract role with the possibility of an extension depending upon the needs of the business.

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)
