Tetra Tech Inc. Disaster Recovery (TDR) is currently seeking a Project Coordinator for a disaster recovery and mitigation program in Puerto Rico. The successful candidate will have experience organizing disaster management related programs, such as, but not limited to, FEMA PA and IA, CDBG-DR, or CDBG-MIT. They will be responsible for functions assigned to them under the supervision of the Program Manager, Deputy Program Manager, Project Manager, and senior management team.

This is a Section 3 eligible job opportunity. We encourage applications from individuals who are low income and/or living in Public Housing. Individual - CDBG (pr.gov).

Location: Puerto Rico (Guaynabo Office)

 

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a point of contact between the Key Staff and the Project Team.
  • Receive or make calls, take or send messages, and manage correspondence to or from the Key Staff and Project Team.
  • Maintain daily, weekly and monthly schedules for the Key Staff and Project Team.
  • Support in all project coordination activities as requested by PRDOH for approved projects under the FEMA Match Programs.
  • Maintain a proper physical file system, as required.
  • Produce reports, presentations and briefs for the Key Staff and Project Team.
  • Assist the Key Staff and Project Team in record-keeping all data and documentation generated for the Program implementation.
  • Assist in any other administrative task, as assigned by the Key Staff or Project Team.
  • Perform any other duties and special projects as required.
  • May require frequent travel around the island.

The candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • Must have a bachelor's degree or higher education from an accredited institution.
  • Must have at least two (2) years of project management experience.
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge in Microsoft Office software.
  • Must be familiarized with user-end data management systems.
  • Must have excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Must have fluent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Must be working locally from Puerto Rico.

 

The preferred candidate will also have:

  • Experience working on CDBG-DR and CDBG-MIT programs.
  • A self-starter mentality and experience taking ownership of projects with limited direction.
  • Ability to thrive in a low-ego, highly collaborative work environment.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills, as well as the ability to execute multiple projects with overlapping timelines.
  • Experience in federally funded housing and infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and customer focus.
  • Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously; set priorities and plan work to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to identify problems and develop solutions, working well in a team environment.
  • Ability to work attentively with minimal supervision and set priorities.
  • Workdays in excess of 8 hours and/or weekend attendance may be required.
  • Intuition and forward-thinking is a plus while working to accomplish goals.
  • Must be motivated and results oriented.
  • Professional self-presentation and communication.
