Tetra Tech is adding a Senior Stormwater Design Engineer/Project Manager to our Southeast team. For this role, we are open to hybrid work schedules in our Atlanta, GA, Cocoa, FL, or Jacksonville, FL offices, or remote work schedules within the southeast United States region.

What Sets This Role Apart:
The Southeast region of the Water division provides services in Florida, Georgia, and other areas in the southeastern U.S., as well as across the country. Supporting multiple state and municipal clients within this region, as well as federal agencies, the Southeast team has completed some of the most technically challenging projects in the region and beyond, including:
Supporting Gwinnett County, Georgia with several forward-thinking initiatives to encourage “smart” stormwater design for critical environmental, regulatory, and community benefits, including flood and water supply resiliency. Key support includes development of the stormwater manual and BMP monitoring guidance, ordinance review/revision, BMP construction inspection training, and design of high-profile demonstration projects as well as design, permitting, and construction support for stream restoration, wetland enhancement, and green stormwater infrastructure projects.
Leading water resources engineering design and permitting efforts to develop innovative stormwater treatment projects for multiple counties in Florida. Efforts include creating countywide stormwater master plans; developing models to identify current and future flooding locations; preparing engineering designs, construction plans and specifications, permit applications for coastal and inland wetland restorations and habitat enhancements; and more.
Low impact design for green stormwater infrastructure projects and development of watershed management plans in conjunction with on-call stormwater services for several municipalities throughout the Southeast.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Stormwater Design Engineer/Project Manager with expertise in stormwater design and watershed management. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead innovative projects focused on green stormwater infrastructure, water quality and quantity, and community resiliency for municipal, state, and federal clients. As a Project Manager, you will take on a leadership role managing our interdisciplinary teams, developing creative solutions, and delivering impactful projects.
Essential Job Functions:

Lead stormwater infrastructure projects, including green stormwater infrastructure, water quality and quantity, and community and climate resiliency.
Develop technical designs and prepare construction and bid documents, including plans, specifications, and cost-benefit analyses.
Analyze water quality and watershed data using GIS and statistical methods, creating detailed charts, maps, and reports to communicate findings.
Collaborate with team members to ensure high quality deliverables through quality control and assurance processes.
Manage project schedules, budgets, scope, and client coordination, including supervising, planning, and prioritizing project tasks.
Engage in business development activities, including building client relationships, contributing to proposals, and identifying opportunities to expand services.
Support project documentation by preparing memos, technical reports, and presentations.
Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering professional growth and maintaining a collaborative team environment.
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, or comparable engineering field (master's degree preferred).
A minimum of 10 years of relevant engineering experience, with a strong foundation in stormwater design and watershed management.
Experience with construction support for municipal clients including reviewing surveys, performing site assessments, and observing construction activities.
An active Professional Engineer (PE) certification in Florida or Georgia (or the ability to gain licensure in those states within six months of hire).
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS; and/or modeling software such as StormWise (previously ICPR), PCSWMM, and HEC-RAS.
Proven analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, demonstrated through education and professional experience.
Experience preparing and delivering client presentations, with a focus on municipal or other public-sector clients.
Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, and an eagerness to learn additional design and analysis software as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to travel for site visits and client meetings as needed. Travel is estimated to be up to 25% yearly (occasional overnight travel).
Ability to stand or walk for long periods during site visits, including the ability to kneel, crouch, or stoop when inspecting sites.
Ability to lift and carry materials/equipment up to 25 pounds.
Willingness and ability to work outdoors in a range of weather conditions (heat, rain, wind, cold) for extended periods of time.
Ability to sit at a workstation and use a computer for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours/day). Additional hours may be required based on project needs.
Manual dexterity to use a computer mouse, keyboard, and other tools.
Visual acuity to read and interpret detailed drawings and technical documents including topographic and site surveys, construction document plan sets, and reports.
Ability to communicate effectively in-person and via electronic means.
Additional Information:
For this role, we are open to hybrid work schedules in our Atlanta, GA, Cocoa, FL, or Jacksonville, FL offices, or remote work schedules within the southeast United States region.
This position is scheduled for full-time work (40 hours/week) with a typical schedule of 8:00am to 5:00pm Eastern Time Monday to Friday. Additional hours may be required based on project needs.
