Tetra Tech is currently seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer (PE) for our Irvine, CA office location.
The selected candidate will lead the strategy, development, capture, and execution of projects targeting the commercial environmental market sector. This position requires a proven track record of managing client relationships, winning substantial work and growing client account revenues, developing specific work programs for clients, and providing leadership for project management and execution of the work.
The Senior Environmental Engineer (PE) will manage environmental projects related to state, municipal, and commercial clients. Experience in scoping projects, preparing proposals and cost estimates, and demonstrated ability to manage program, project, and group profitably. Experience in preparing business plans for significant client growth and overseeing the successful implementation of such plans. Demonstrated networking capability (locally and regionally) and presentation experience at conferences and workshops is a plus.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated seller/doer with group management experience with the following qualifications: business development including building and mentoring an environmental engineering/geoscience team, currently manages and has a proven record of building and diversifying business, has an established client base and strong industry connections; has significant experience managing staff and business operations; and has strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, task and project management, technical report preparation, development and oversight of field sampling and field procedures, supervision of soil and groundwater investigations, feasibility studies, and remediation design and construction.
Essential Duties & Qualifications:
10+ years of professional environmental consulting experience is required, with a history of increasing responsibility
Proven track record of developing and growing the business
Ability to build an environmental/geoscience team and mentor staff
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Training required. OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training and 8-hour OSHA Supervisors of Hazardous Waste Operations Training preferred
Strong track record in identifying opportunities and developing strategies to win targeted pursuits.
Strong network of clients and long-standing, established relationships within the commercial environmental market sector.
Experience with proposal writing, and cost estimating to obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors
Ability to interface with clients, subcontractors, working groups, and internal customers
Ability to work closely with senior management and operations to develop pursuit strategies for perspective projects
Skilled in oral and written communication with demonstrated ability developing and delivering effective presentations and proposals to customers and management.
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required. Advanced degree preferred
Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) required
