The selected candidate will be primarily responsible for reviewing documents and work products for presentation quality and readability. General responsibilities include:
- Ensure documents are clear, logical and document organization is appropriate
- Review document for coherence, consistency, and conciseness
- Correct grammar, word choice, punctuation, and spelling
- Confirm adherence to Tetra Tech or client-specific style requirements and guidance
- Confirm figures and tables are used effectively, and references are complete
- Contact project managers or author immediately to resolve or convey significant questions and/or problems
- Complete internal Quality Control Review forms
- Provide feedback to the author or project manager after the editorial review is completed
Job Requirements:
This position requires a minimum of 5+ years of related experience. The ideal candidate will also have / be:
- Attention to detail is a high priority; one of the primary functions of this position is proofreading
- Proficiency with MS Office applications is required
- Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator a plus
- Previous experience with graphic design, providing training, proposal preparation, or leading other technical editors a plus
- Professional, poised and be able to communicate effectively with clients, outside vendors, and team members whenever necessary. Client interaction is required in this position.
- Can-do attitude and the ability to go above and beyond to ensure the success of the department
- Attentive to the needs of staff and work with specific deadlines
- Open to learning new skills as required to meet the needs of the department and company-wide staff
- Highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment as well as independently
- Manage a heavy workload and able to work overtime (nights and weekends) at times when needed
Degree / Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in English or related field
