Texas Children's Hospital – Austin seeks pediatric emergency medicine (PEM) physicians to provide patient care in the Emergency Center in Houston, TX.

The Baylor College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Emergency Medicine, in association with Texas Children's Hospital, is seeking a Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) physician to provide patient care in the Emergency Centers at our main campus of Texas Children's Hospital, West Campus, and Woodland locations. This position will be a clinically focused hospital experience with the backing and support of one of the premier academic medical institutions in the United States. This freestanding children's hospital will be equipped with modern, state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, strong nursing, advanced practice provider and tech support, collaborative partnerships with other services, and a cutting-edge operations system to bolster professional efforts and overall faculty satisfaction.

Position Highlights:

Join our nationally recognized team of pediatric specialists as we seek to hire full-time pediatric emergency medicine (PEM) physicians to provide patient care in the Emergency Center at our Houston, Texas, location(s):

  • The ideal candidate should demonstrate proficiency with EPIC-electronic medical records and document all patient encounters as needed.
  • Renewing and meeting all required licenses and certification requirements.
  • Complete all documentation in a timely manner so that billing and other administrative tasks can happen smoothly to ensure a robust operational system.
  • Maintaining credentialing at all times to ensure the practice is not disrupted.
  • Experience working in a pediatric medical center or specialty care unit that serves complex pediatric cases.
  • The ideal candidate will be comfortable providing coverage level 1 (TCH Houston Medical Center)
  • Clinical duties for PEM physicians are to evaluate, diagnose, manage, consult, and treat all patients who seek care in the Texas Children's Emergency Centers for any problem or complaint.
  • Core privileges include the performance of high stakes and other procedures commonly performed or needing to be performed urgently or emergently.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have an M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree and be Board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
  • The selected candidate for the position must be eligible to obtain or hold an active Texas medical license.
  • Graduated from an accredited Pediatrics/Emergency Medicine Residency and has completed (PEM) Fellowship
