Brief Job Description
This position provides intermediate level business analysis support to the Business Relationship Management (BRM) function within HHSC. The Business Analyst II supports BRMs by attending business and IT meetings, synthesizing information from multiple stakeholders, and producing clear, accurate deliverables that support decision making and follow up activities.
The position assists with the documentation of business needs, requirements, and supporting artifacts; provides portfolio and intake support; and performs light analytical and reporting tasks using established tools and methodologies. Work is performed under general supervision and in accordance with defined standards, templates, and processes. The role supports effective communication and coordination between program areas and IT while ensuring that BRMs can remain focused on strategic relationship management and customer engagement.
Essential Job Functions
Meeting Support & Documentation (30%)
Provides meeting support for BRMs by attending business, program, and IT meetings, capturing discussion outcomes, and producing summaries, action items, and follow-up documentation using established formats.
Requirements & Artifact Maintenance (25%)
Assists with documenting business needs, requirements, process flows, and supporting artifacts as directed. Ensures documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with defined templates and standards.
Intake & Status Tracking Support (20%)
Supports intake and portfolio tracking activities by organizing documentation, updating status trackers, and maintaining records across multiple initiatives. Escalates missing or unclear information to BRMs for resolution.
Reporting & Basic Analysis (15%)
- Performs basic data analysis, trend identification, and reporting using established tools
- Supports BRMs by providing analytical inputs to inform discussions and recommendations
Coordination & Follow-Up (10%)
Coordinates with program staff and IT teams to gather information, confirm updates, and track assigned deliverables. Follows up on action items as directed and ensures information is communicated clearly and accurately.
