The Inventory and Store Spec II performs complex inventory and ingredient room duties; assigns duties to the other Ingredient room staff. Work involves controlling inventory, putting away food and goods, delivering of goods to the dining areas and other areas as needed. Work involves using pull sheets and setting up carts for the Cooks. Assists with reconciling inventory variances and maintaining Ingredient room security. May have to work on the dining areas when employee shortages or emergencies occur. Cross Training with the Truck drivers for delivery of foods is required. Works under the Manager with general supervision.
Essential Job Functions (EJFs):
Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. Provides direct supervision of employees and working clients in performing daily operational duties.
Maintains all chemical and paper good supply inventory. Assures deliveries are on a schedule and completed in a timely manner. Transportation is completed manually or lifting devices such as pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
Receives and assists with shipments of chemical and paper good supplies and any equipment received in the Department. Duties related to receiving them include inspecting, counting, and checking paper and chemical items for compliance or damage and making notations on proper documents in accordance with the Food Service Policy and Procedures.
Delivers stock to assigned dining rooms on a schedule or as needed basis; either manually or with appropriate transportation or lifting devices. Delivers supplies, supplements, or equipment items to ordering departments in a timely manner.
Assures all items are properly labeled and dated, and all chemical and paper items are rotated per FIFO.
Working knowledge of the Ingredient room including assigning duties to staff and controlling security of the area.
Loads and unloads supplies and equipment to and from delivery vehicles using the correct material handling equipment.
Follows proper food handling in accordance with food service procedures, state, federal and HACCP guidelines. Follows procedures for sanitation of all work areas, storage room and storage of equipment. Observes safety procedures and practices.
Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of Ingredient room operations to include shipping, receiving, inventory control, inventory replenishment and customer service.
Skills in the use of mechanical lifting devices used in Central Kitchen operations to move, transfer and deliver goods.
Ability to calculate ingredients needed for meal preparation.
Ability to read and speak English and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to use basic computer skills.
Ability to complete basic math used in cooking/ preparation.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to stand/ walk on hard floors for extended period of time.
Ability to work in hot and/or cold conditions.
Ability to work harmoniously and productively with co-workers and individuals served.
Knowledgeable of Serv Safe procedures and chemical safety.
Ability to drive vehicles in a safe manner.
Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications:
Food Handler's Certificate
Valid Texas Driver's License
Initial Screening Criteria:
Graduation from an accredited Senior High School. College level training in Business Administration or related fields is desirable.
Have experience in retail sales operations, including preparation of orders, receiving, storing, and displaying merchandise, with a thorough knowledge of inventory control procedures and at least 1 years' experience in supervision of personnel.
Additional Information:

Flexibility in work hours may be required for this position. The position may be required to work overtime and/or extended hours. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
