The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks highly qualified candidates to fill the MEPD Training Specialist position within Access and Eligibility Services (AES). AES is driven by its mission to connect people, services and supports.
As an MEPD Training Specialist, you will play an essential role in facilitating and delivering virtual and in-person employee development programs for new and existing AES team members. Area of focus includes the Medicaid for the Elderly and People with Disabilities (MEPD) program.

Essential Job Functions
Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
Leads or assists in the facilitation of virtual and in-person learning sessions for new and tenured team members. 45%
Identifies and resolves training-related issues using the appropriate adult education methods and techniques. 35%
Reviews and evaluates curriculum and recommends modifications as appropriate. 10%
Compiles and evaluates data and prepares reports. 10%

KSAs
Must have knowledge of procedures for determining eligibility for MEPD programs. Prefer knowledge of SNAP, Medicaid for Children and Families, and TANF programs.
Must have knowledge of effective adult education methods, including techniques for leading virtual and in-person learning sessions.
Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to facilitate learning for people of varied knowledge bases in large and small groups
Must have ability to evaluate effectiveness of learning sessions, communicate effectively and assess learning needs.
Must have the ability to analyze learning session data and prepare concise reports.
Initial Screening Criteria
Ability to travel 60% of the time
At least 3 years' experience in MEPD programs within the past 4 years.
TIERS/State Portal experience
EWMS experience
Prefer SNAP, Medicaid for Children/Families program experience
Prefer TANF program experience
Prefer experience in facilitating adult education
Prefer experience in supervising others
