Location: Breast Imaging Center, 219B Parrish St. Suite 103 Canandaigua, NY 14424 

Schedule:  Mon - Fri, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Pay Rate: $19.00-25.00, based on experience.

Main Function: 

  • Under the direction of the Breast Imaging Center Supervisor, Office Coordinator has the dual role of secretarial lead & clinical secretary for the Mammography Dept.
  • Administratively responsible for clerical staff working in Mammography including recruiting, selection, training, evaluation and mentoring. Works closely with Breast Imaging Center Supervisor when addressing disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinates PTO for clerical staff ensuring desk coverage.
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with all management staff and other FFTH staff.
  • The Office Coordinator plays a vital role in assuring whole patient care is made available to each individual via overseeing workflow that includes the following, and personally performing the following: answering phones, convenient appointment scheduling, verifying eligibility as well as understanding, interpreting and applying multiple insurance benefits in their application to specific patients.
  • The Office Coordinator will input, classify and manage documentation in the office's electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • The Office Coordinator will assist in, and perform the diverse tasks required to maintain an efficient and organized office.
  • Actively supports physicians & nurses & be an enthusiastic participant in departmental meetings & actively identify ways to improve processes & service to patients.
  • Individual must be able to manage the demanding workload with accuracy and represent the office and staff professionally.
  • Position requires excellent customer service skills with patients, and their families, other staff, physicians and other providers, management, vendors, and the public.

Required Job-Specific Competencies:

  • Demonstrates skill in administrative support within a medical office setting including but not limited to use of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Microsoft Word, insurer systems, etc. as well as creative and efficient appointment scheduling, document classification, patient outreaches, insurance verification, Medicare Secondary Payor and other forms accuracy and HIPAA compliance.
  • Shows caring and concern for all patients.
  • Demonstrates patient centered approach to care, adhering to all NYS' Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) requirements for the delivery of evidence-based care that supports the population needs.
  • Participates in, leads and performs activities, audits, outreaches, etc. that support PCMH certification.
  • Exhibits time management skills, keyboarding skills and multi-tasking abilities to assure business components of the practice are maintained at an efficient and effective level.
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with providers and all the mammography staff.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently and exhibits flexibility in decision making and prioritizing assignments.
  • Exhibits leadership skills through active support of the department, system goals and objectives.
  • Actively guards the confidentiality of sensitive information including but not limited to the patients, staff and the health system.
  • Can successfully complete the Hospital orientation program and department specific orientation.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of previous secretary/clerical medical office experience required.
  • Computer knowledge and skills including but not limited to Outlook and Microsoft Office required.
  • Medical terminology required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Medical Administrative certification preferred.
  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • ICD-10/CPT coding experience preferred.
  • Strong EMR experience preferred.
  • 2  years as office coordinator experience preferred to include supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of multiple insurance policies, administrative requirements, benefit coverage and their application to multiple patients for multiple scenarios as presented in practice setting is strongly preferred.

     

    Pay Range: $19.00-25.00
