Saint Alphonsus Medical Group, a physician led 550+ provider multispecialty group, has an excellent full-time employment opportunity for a General Surgery physician to join a robust and growing practice located in Nampa, Idaho.

This full-spectrum general surgery practice offers rewarding surgery opportunities including robotics, endoscopic, and laparoscopic procedures. This practice is a blend between elective and acute care surgery. The practice is in a clinic space just five years old located on the campus of Saint Alphonsus Medical Center Nampa (SAMC-Nampa), the new hospital building (five years old).

SAMC-Nampa is a Level III Trauma Center with 106 beds, six operating suites, plus endoscopy, state-of-the-art digital environment and pioneering technologies including advanced imaging capabilities and award-winning clinical services.

The schedule for this full-time opportunity is a traditional work week, Monday - Friday, with a minimum of 32 hours of patient contact time which includes clinic, procedures, and consults. Call requirement is seven days of call per month including one weekend.

Support includes a regional network of Primary Care Clinics; 24/7 CRNA Anesthesia; general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, gynecology, oncology, urology, and endoscopy; Hospital-based imaging services: 24/7 radiology department; in-house coverage for general radiology and CT; after hours call coverage for Ultrasound and Nuclear Medicine (NM); MRI; Breast Care Center; X-ray (CR and DR image capture); ED; Saint Alphonsus network of Specialty and Primary Care clinics.

Requirements for this opportunity include:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
  • Successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA General Surgery residency program
  • Board certification through the American Board of Surgery (ABS) or the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery (AOBS) - or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment.
  • Obtain Idaho medical licensure and granting of privileges at SARMC and other health system affiliated hospitals as needed, valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy and DEA
  • Strong consideration will be given to candidates with expertise in Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgery
  • Candidate must have exceptional collaboration and teamwork skills to contribute toward building a cohesive and supportive culture in the practice and the operating room.
