Summary of Job Duties: This Position is located in Springdale, Arkansas

The Kids First Clinic Director is responsible for the daily operations of a UAMS Kids First site in accordance with the Kids First model, core values, and mission.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in early childhood, child development, or a related field from accredited college or university PLUS four years' experience in early childhood to include two years' experience in managing infant and toddler programs and/or directly supervising the work of others, CDA credential, or Birth-PreK Credential
  • Excellent communication skills with children and adults
  •  Must have valid Driver's License


Additional Information:

  • Directs the daily operation of a UAMS Kids First Clinic assuring compliance with all required regulations and standards.
  • Continually monitors all aspects of clinic operations to ensure they meet program standards including, but not limited to: enrollment, facilities, curriculum, intake, transition, clinical services, and family centered care. 
  • Handles problems and seeks solutions in collaboration with program leadership when problems arise. Supports the UAMS mission as a liaison with the community and its medical, educational, and civic components. 
  • Develops annual plan for community involvement, outreach, patient recruitment, and contact with referral sources.
  • Ensures expenditures are within the established clinic budget. 
  • Makes recommendations for the annual budget.  Within authorized limits controls purchases, approves payments, and assures accountability.
  • Demonstrates competency in leadership skills necessary to manage and provide oversight for an off-campus clinical program.   

  • Recruits, interviews, and makes hiring recommendations for staff. Sets clear performance expectations based on the program model, evaluates, monitors, and manages the performance of staff; including productivity.

  • Ensures staff competence through verification of licensure, skills validation, and ongoing education. Communicates and collaborates with the Kids First Leadership Team, other clinic directors, stakeholders, and the public.

  • Models UAMS core values and Kids First Guiding Principles in all aspects of role. Demonstrates positive concern for parents and families served. 

  • Supports staff in establishing good relations with parents/families. 

  • Maintains sensitivity and open communication with parents and family members, in compliance with principles of Family Centered Care. 

  • Ensures the clinic provides opportunities for family engagement, education, and involvement in their child's care.

  • Anticipates problems and works to resolve differences through active listening, open communication, and appropriate problem-solving skills.

  • Provides reflective and administrative supervision to clinic staff.  

  • Makes staffing assignments daily, and observes, monitors, and evaluates performance of staff, students, and volunteers to ensure performance meets programmatic standards.

  • Consult with program managers on questions of model fidelity or appropriateness of clinical services. Stays abreast of information regarding the program and communicates program achievements and processes changes to staff in a timely manner. 

  • Coaches staff performance through group/individual supervision; provides feedback that promotes growth and development of supervisees through teaching. Helps supervisees learn to self-supervise and develop independence. Provides or arranges for training.
