Summary of Job Duties: The Senior Grants Administrator is responsible for the review of proposals for external funding and reviewing grant agreements, subcontracts, and other contracts and coordinating with Sr. Contracts Attorney for review. Serves as a liaison with external funding agencies and other research organizations. Daily activities include electronic research administration, interaction with research faculty and department administrators/representatives on campus, answering questions and offering advice on external funding matters, internal procedures, contracting procedures, and resolving issues concerning pre-award, post award non-financial, and contracting matters.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate Degree, Major, B.A. or B.S. Finance, Accounting or Related field plus 7 years working with government grants and contracts, restricted funds, and industry-sponsored contracts and related fiscal and budget issues.

  • UAMS Grants Management Certification Program (GMCP) completed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in any professional or traditional field preferred.
  • Certified Research Administrator (CRA) preferred.

  • Reviewing grants and contracts, coordinating contract reviews utilizing federal, state, and UAMS procedures and personal skills and judgment. Completes these complex duties as a vital part of UAMS' research mission.
  • Maintaining electronic database, preparing subcontract agreements, and providing on-going support to the UAMS faculty and staff utilizing federal, state, and UAMS procedures and personal skills and judgment. Completes these complex duties as a vital part of UAMS' research mission.
