Description

A post-doctoral research position is available to work on analysis and scientific interpretation of data obtained from the NASA ICON mission.

Duties will include working with a small distributed team on the development of data analysis procedures for the Ion Velocity Meter and the conduct of scientific inquiry utilizing data from all the ICON instruments and other contemporaneous data sets.

Minimum Education and Experience

Ph.D in a related field.



Preferred Education and Experience

Eligible candidates should have a doctoral degree in space science or a related discipline. Some familiarity with the Earth's near space environment will be a significant advantage and familiarity with NetCDF data sets and Python programming protocols will be essential to make progress.

Additional Information

The appointment will be for 12 months and can begin immediately. Extension of the position and elevation in rank is dependent on appropriate performance.

Remote Work Notice
A hybrid remote work schedule may be available, and completion and approval of a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required upon employment. Use of personal computer, internet, and other standard equipment may be required. Employee must be located within the State of Texas and have the ability to be on campus for work activities as scheduled and/or with 24-hour notice. Remote work arrangements are subject to regular review and re-approval and may be canceled at any time.
