This role will help shape resident engagement, wellbeing, hospitality, and service excellence across our communities nationwide while fostering meaningful experiences for residents, families, and employees.

Based in our Chicago corporate office in a hybrid work environment (3 days in office / 2 remote), this position partners closely with community and corporate leaders to advance resident-centered experiences across the continuum of care.

Through the Vista 360 wellbeing philosophy, this leader will help empower, elevate, and enliven the lives of residents while supporting a culture centered on connection, purpose, inclusion, and quality of life.

About the Role

The Assistant Vice President of Resident Experience provides enterprise-wide leadership for resident experience strategy, lifestyle programming, wellbeing initiatives, hospitality experiences, and resident satisfaction efforts across Vi communities.

This role partners across operations, resident care, human resources, and executive leadership to help ensure residents, prospective residents, family members, and employees experience thoughtful service, meaningful engagement, and a strong sense of community.

The AVP of Resident Experience also supports the development of programs, standards, and initiatives that strengthen consistency, innovation, and service excellence across all resident touchpoints.


Responsibilities

What You'll Do

Strategic Leadership & Resident Experience

  • Provide strategic leadership for resident experience and Vista 360 wellbeing initiatives across all communities
  • Partner with executive leadership, operational teams, and community leaders to support long-term planning and resident-centered initiatives
  • Develop and implement programs, systems, processes, and education that enhance resident engagement, wellness experiences, hospitality, and service delivery
  • Support Lifestyle teams in delivering consistent, meaningful, and inclusive experiences aligned with organizational standards
  • Collaborate with external organizations and partners to strengthen resident experience offerings and services

Service Excellence & Satisfaction

  • Partner with operational leaders to support initiatives that enhance resident and employee experiences across the organization
  • Help establish and maintain standards for resident programs, communications, amenities, fitness centers, and community environments
  • Oversee resident satisfaction survey processes, analyze trends, and guide improvement strategies
  • Use resident feedback and insights to support the development of new programs, services, and experiences aligned with Vista 360 wellbeing
  • Develop customer service strategies that support the needs of residents, prospective residents, and family members
  • Promote best practices for resident onboarding and integration to help ensure welcoming and consistent experiences across communities

Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish quality indicators and support continuous improvement initiatives related to resident experience programs
  • Partner with Resident Care leadership to align resident experience efforts with wellness standards and the Philosophy of Care
  • Participate in organizational quality committees to support consistency, quality, and compliance efforts across communities
  • Support Care Center-based QAPI initiatives through collaboration with Lifestyle Managers and Care Center leadership
  • Help ensure programs and practices align with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and privacy requirements

Employee Engagement & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Human Resources and operational leadership to integrate wellbeing into employee engagement, wellness initiatives, and REDI efforts
  • Foster collaboration and shared ownership across departments and stakeholder groups
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives by building alignment, communication, and strong working relationships across teams

Qualifications

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required; degree in gerontology, health/exercise science, hospitality, recreation therapy, or related field preferred
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Significant leadership experience, including experience within senior living community operations, regional leadership, or corporate support environments
  • Experience leading resident experience, hospitality, lifestyle, wellness, or engagement-focused initiatives

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement inclusive life enrichment and lifelong learning programs
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills across operational and corporate teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to navigate sensitive situations thoughtfully and professionally
  • Experience supporting organizational initiatives within a culture of continuous improvement
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Effective project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence without direct reporting authority
  • Business and financial acumen, including experience managing budgets and operational priorities
  • Adaptability and responsiveness in evolving operational and corporate environments
  • Knowledge of wellness philosophies, aging, resident engagement, and senior living operations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and presentation/publishing tools

  • Approximately 30% travel, with occasional additional travel in support of special initiatives and projects

Pay Range

USD $185,000.00 - USD $215,000.00 /Yr.
