This position is responsible for directing and supervising Peer supporters and specialists working on the Rehabilitation Services Peer support Team. The position helps maintain efficient team operations by coordinating team functioning/events/trainings and supports job skill development of the team members. Additionally, the person filling this position works alongside team members providing direct services and provides supervision and direction to an assistant program manager.

SALARY RANGE: $65,365 - $76,900/year

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Supervise, coach, develop, and direct work for peer mentors and peer specialists at the direction of the program manager. 
  • Provide individual and intentional training to peer specialists and peer mentors and other employees on the Peer team and monitor completion of training by peer mentor and specialist staff members. 
  • Provide direct services and carry a small peer specialist caseload. 
  • · Facilitate weekly team and individual staff meetings  
  • Participate in the development of long and short-term goals for the team that are consistent with program and organizational goals.  
  • Train and evaluate Peer Support Staff to maintain quality within the team, encourage growth and development of staff while instilling awareness of cultural diversity.  
  • Support, coah and train other program managers who supervise peer support staff in other areas of the organization around the Peer Support competencies and the unique approach to supervision with peer support staff. 
  • Complete performance evaluations timely and provide appropriate coaching and counseling to ensure all employees perform at satisfactory levels, identify when discipline is appropriate.  
  • Participate in the selection process for internal and external candidates for Peer Support positions.  
  • Conduct timely audits to ensure compliance with WellPower policies, State and other regulatory policies regarding Peer Support and documentation. Revise and update internal policies.  
  • Assist with the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting needs of the team. Take corrective action as needed to ensure compliance of established budget.  
  • Maintain a trauma informed environment of wellbeing. 
  • Other duties as assigned by Vice President or C suite staff. 

 

EDUCATION:   Bachelor Degree in Social Services or related field.  

Obtain a peer support certification within 1 year of hire. CPRP optional but encouraged. 

 

EXPERIENCE:   Three to five years in mental health or human services field.  One or more years of manager and/or Peer Support supervisor experience preferred.
