AAA Medical Corp is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join a Neonatal group at a Level III NICU in Stockton, California.

Overview:

St. Josephs Medical Center (SJMC) is both the largest hospital and the largest private employer in Stockton, California. St. Josephs, which is nationally recognized as a quality leader, is consistently selected as the preferred hospital by local consumers. 

Under the supervision of attending Neonatologists, the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for the assessment, evaluation, and treatment of neonates.

Additional job duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Function as the mid-level provider for newborn patients by:
    1. Under the supervision of the attending physician, assess, plan, and evaluate medical care.
    2. Reporting to the attending pediatrician in a precise and succinct manner, as well as in problem-oriented documentation.
    3. Ordering and evaluating laboratory data and diagnostic imagingas needed.
    4. Ordering appropriate medication orders, TPN, blood products, admissions, and discharges.
    5. Attend high-risk deliveries, resuscitate and stabilize patients.
    6. Transporting newborns to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St. Joseph's Medical Center SJMC from other hospital systems, or transferring neonates to another NICU for surgical or other services.
  2. Consult with administrative, nursing, and medical personnel.
  3. The nursing staff should keep their advanced knowledge and skills in neonatal care up to date by leading and/or taking part in an ongoing competency
  4. In a timely manner, submits appropriate billing.
  5. Take an active role in improving quality and creating, revising, and putting into place policies and procedures in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
  6. Other roles and responsibilities include:
    1. Serves as a resource and role model for colleagues, physicians, and nursing staff.
    2. Maintains good relationships and works well with others.
    3. Confronts conflict with a constructive attitude.
    4. Contributes to problem solving by identifying issues, coming up with solutions, and helping to solve them.
    5. Maintains patientconfidentiality in accordance to HIPPA.
    6. Assumes responsibility for performing job duties in the safest manner possible.

 

Minimum required qualifications:

  • Successful completion of an accredited NNP program
  • NNP Certification
  • State of California License
  • NRP Certification
  • New grads welcome to apply
  • Clinical knowledge, current clinical competences, and analytical abilities necessary to formulate nursing and medical interventions.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians, other health care personnel, and visitors.
