Job Description:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Accounting, Finance, Business or other relevant field of study

Work Experiences:

  • Three (3) + years of analyst work experience in the retail sector preferred

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate initiative and ability to oversee, direct, and manage projects
  • Proficient in prioritizing multiple tasks; excellent problem solver; works equally well independently or in a team environment
  • Analytical with strong mathematical skills, problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skills
  • Ability to remain organized, pay strict attention to detail and meet critical deadlines within a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced MS Access, Excel and Macros user

Responsibilities:

  • Manages various programs involving safety, insurance, and claim reporting
  • Manages and assists with preparation and data collection for Academy's insurance renewals and actuarial analyses
  • Manages an ERISA benefit notification program for Texas Team Members
  • Manages physical records storage and destruction
  • Performs data analysis to deepen business understanding; provides root cause analytics; develops and manages dashboards, scorecards, ad hoc and project specific reporting
  • Ensures data integrity of various risk-related information systems
  • Drives analytical support for claims cost management and cost reduction objectives
  • Prepares various claims reports for internal and external use in evaluating loss reserves, forecasts, and allocations
  • Serves as a liaison with internal and external partners and vendors
  • Serves as a liaison for data and analytics between Risk Management and insurance carriers for renewals, audits, retrospective claim reviews, etc
  • Utilizes Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS, MS Access and Excel) heavily
  • Reconciles and ensures the accuracy of retrospective premium adjustments for expired insurance policies
  • Reconciles TPA cash account statements to monthly paid loss detail to ensure withdrawals and replenishments agree
  • Reviews vendor certificates of insurance and provide Academy certificates upon request
  • Assists with the evaluation and management of various 3rd party vendors
  • Assists in administering, analyzing and coordinating the Company's records and information management program including to maintenance, transfer and disposition of records and copies and Academy's Records Retention Schedule
  • Provides analytical support and manages small to mid-scale projects
  • Serves as a resource for various analytic and records retention inquiries
  • Periodically assists with accident and incident follow up for OSHA reporting determination
