About the Role:
Alcoa Brasil is seeking a Financial Accounting Manager to join the Corporate Controllership team based in São Paulo, SP. This exciting and challenging role places you at the center of Alcoa's technical accounting expertise, working with a highly qualified team and engaging with stakeholders across the company.
This role offers a high degree of variety and learning opportunities, allowing you to develop both business and technical accounting knowledge. You will work within a world-class finance organization, providing accurate and transparent financial reporting and resolving technical accounting matters. The position reports directly to the Finance Director.
Key activities include:
Identify and resolve corporate-wide accounting issues in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and IFRS support recording, documentation and reporting of these issues. Develop, implement and monitor associated accounting policies.
Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data as requested by Operations Controllers or Management.
Analyze monthly financial results of legal entities and summarize findings for Finance Director.
Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules and disclosures for internal and external purposes for IFRS and USGAAP.
Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data as requested by plant controllership, shared services or operating location personnel.
Participate in ongoing compliance initiatives related to the Company's compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
Update job knowledge by staying up to date on new accounting pronouncements; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Participate in the activities related to the quarterly reviews and the annual audit performed by external auditors.
Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Perform analyses and special projects as requested by the Company's senior financial management team.
What you can bring to this role:
CRC certification required
Finance / accounting experience
Experience in public accounting (Big4)
Fluent English
Good communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Master's degree is preferable
