About the Role

We are currently seeking a warehouse senior supervisor with the correct mix of qualifications, experience, leadership, critical thinking and vision, to lead the Pinjarra Refinery Stores team and supervise the management of >350,000 inventory items that support the maintenance and productivity of our assets.

Reporting directly to the area manager the successful candidate will be integral to the overall Materials Management process for the location, ensuring the safe, efficient and effective storage, protection management, handling and flow of materials into, across and out of the location to support continuous operations and sustained productivity, in compliance with all relevant Alcoa and Statutory policies and standards.

This role will work closely with location, operations, and resource unit groups, including Maintenance, Operations, Asset Management, Engineering, Procurement, Materials Coordinator and Finance, to share best practices, problem solve to root cause and drive improvement in Materials Management productivity for the location.

Core Activities:

  • Ensuring the safety of all employees, contractors and visitors engaged in warehousing activities in accordance with Location and Alcoa procedures

  • Leadership and management all location stores employees & contractors, and function performance of the department.

  • Managing the Kitting and Repairable processes, Receipt, Storage, Picking, Staging, Delivery, Returns, Shipping activities (approximately 202000 transactions per year) of all Materials, including >350k physical inventory

  • Co-ordination of General Freight and Logistics for all location operations, including working with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of Operations, Stores and Suppliers with key business strategies and objectives, and to solve problems

  • Ensuring the Warehouse and Inventory is robustly managed in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements, ensuring location compliance with the financial reporting standards for publicly traded companies.  This includes completion of any assigned internal audit testing and corrective action ownership.

  • Continuous optimisation of processes and workflows to achieve measurable productivity improvements and meet global, regional and local KPIs.

What you can bring to the role

To be successful in this role and to play a part in our ongoing success you will have:

  • A high awareness, and proven track record of, safe, large scale warehousing operations.

  • Warehousing, stores, logistics experience, preferably backed by the relevant tertiary qualifications.

  • Well-developed and proven leadership skills to build trust and empower work groups to become safe, high performing teams

  • Highly developed, and honed interpersonal skills, as well as strong decision-making skills.

  • Pro-active, self-motivated outlook and act as a catalyst for improvement and change within the work function, wider leadership teams, and regional functional support.

  • High level of verbal, written and numerical skills
