Position Summary 

This position performs a wide range of duties to safely and efficiently produce precast concrete products of the highest quality standards. Disassembly of forms. All other tasks as assigned.

THIS IS A UNION POSITION - SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL BECOME A MEMBER OF THE UNITED STEELWORKERS UNION LOCAL 14581, IF NOT ALREADY A CURRENT MEMBER.

Responsibilities 

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Produce wood forms and Styrofoam block outs for concrete production using a wide variety of machinery including but not limited to table saws, radial saws, and staple guns
  • Read shop/engineering drawings and constructs forms per those specifications
  • Move and assemble forms at pouring sites
  • Maintain good housekeeping and safety regulations on the shop floor
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. Education/Experience 

  • Minimum of 6 months experience
  • Must have a high school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of hand tools and power equipment (e.g. table saw, chop saw, miter saw, hand saw, nail gun, hot-wire)
  • Ability and willingness to learn and be trained
  • Some construction experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members
  • Must work safely and be team oriented
  • Good attendance and positive attitude
  • Knowledge and skills to use basic tools
  • Knowledge of basic measurements and how to read a tape measure
  • Understands and can apply basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, multiplication & division)
  • Must be 18 years in age or older.
  • Must pass pre-employment screening.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as per company policy.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: Face Shield, Safety (hard toe) Shoes and Safety Vest.
  • Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations

Physical Environment 

Lifting may be required with assistance provided if needed
