THE ROLE:

 

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Systems Power and Performance engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on the Power charactersization, Feature optimization for Power management features and Product definition of server products. As a key contributor you will collaborate with Architecture, Design, and Pre-silicon integration teams to improve post-silicon test content and provide feedback for future generation Power management features. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive key performance related PMM feature definition and optimization
  • Drive quality post silicon power and SLT characterization activity
  • Drive post si performance attainment for server product OPNs.
  • Drive post-silicon/customer debug efforts to identify root cause of power and performance related issues.
  • Develop post-silicon validation infrastructure (software, hardware, automation environment, and lab setup)
  • Interface silicon, power architect, pre-si performance team to close power and performance target in pre-silicon phase. Provide solutions for performance improvement when needed
  • Interface with manufacture team to drive SLT characterization and voltage stack-up methodology to optimize quality and performance.
  • Be able to work in a high demand, fast paced environment with lots of real-time problem solving and critical thinking

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of computer hardware architecture (CPU/APU, x86, PCIe, memory, bus logic) and software architecture (driver, bios, firmware usage)
  • Experience with server product performance optimization
  • Knowledge and experience of power management feature enablement and optimization
  • Understanding of modern x86 microprocessor architecture and Server platform architecture is highly desired
  • Experience developing validation methodologies and infrastructure
  • Able to execute and drive success of programs with multiple projects on the go
  • Debug skills at both SoC and system level
  • Familiarity with programming / scripting language (C/C++, Python, Perl, ...)
  • Working knowledge of Server OSes (Linux, Windows Server)
  • Must be a self-starting team player with excellent communication skills who can work with minimal guidance
  • Forward thinker that drives improvement to development process, code architecture and fosters a spirit of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Working knowledge of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and protocol analyzers
  • Self-organizing and the ability multitask based on priorities

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Master's degree or higher in Electrical/Computer Engineering with a minimum 5-7 years of experience in power and performance related area
