SENIOR SYSTEMS TEST VALIDATION ENGINEER
THE ROLE:
AMD's BIOS QA Test team is looking for an experienced Firmware Test Engineer to develop and execute test plans for platform initialization firmware solutions for components in the AMD Server SOC and GPU. The engineer will be responsible for firmware test plan deliverables. This includes reviewing firmware requirements from product spec, collaborating with feature validation teams, lead system engineers and other stake holders to explore and develop system level test plan, working with simulation teams to create requirements for simulation support and finally working with test engineering team on creating list of test cases to test the features out. The position also requires the engineer to take the existing test cases and execute them on the latest platform initialization firmware releases. Being successful in developing wholistic test plans will need resolving technical challenges and aligning efforts across engineering teams and business units within AMD
THE PERSON:
As a Systems Test Validation Engineer, you will deliver our next generation of system tests for our products. In this high visibility position, your systems engineering expertise will be necessary to find and resolve silicon platform firmware issues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and execute test procedures to validate the design of various GPU (Graphics Processing Units) components and features
- Translate GPU, CPU (Central Processing Unit), chipset, graphics card, motherboard design specs into a robust system integration test plan
- Make improvements to system level integration test strategies, methodologies, and processes
- Collaboration with multi-functional HW and SW teams to debug and tackle complex issues
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Pre and Post-silicon system integration
- Familiarity with pre-silicon environments (Verification, Emulation, Bring-Up)
- Debugging skills at SoC (System on a Chip) and System level
- Experience with Computer Architecture concepts and silicon features
- Ability to program in C, C++, and scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc.)
- Computer enthusiasts and excellent knowledge of current leading PC (Personal Computer) technology
- Effective communication skills working across large multi-functional HW, SW, architecture teams
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Experiences working with RTOS and other embedded OS environments.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent
