The Role:

Reporting to the Corporate Vice President of Data Center Cluster Solutions, the Chief of Staff is the central focal point spanning business and technical aspects of the Data Center Cluster Solutions (DCCS) team.  In this “hands-on” role, you will manage daily operations and serve as a focal point for communication and interaction within the management team. The role also includes driving key strategic initiatives as determined by business needs at the time.    Finally, the Chief of Staff acts as a trusted advisor to the CVP and his staff.

The successful candidate is a proactive and execution focused leader.  She/he is skilled in developing and sustaining positive interpersonal relationships, with a consistent track record of influencing for results in a matrixed environment. The Chief of Staff is creative and innovative in crafting solutions; is results driven with the ability to make decisions quickly and communicate effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with each function across DCCS staff to drive Long Range Planning (LRP), achieve OPEX and Capital budget targets and build a cohesive team environment
  • Help draft business and employee engagement goals and drive success
  • Plan resources to support team goals including creating and managing a quarterly hiring plan, global footprint and ensuring adequate and effective lab and data center footprint in partnership with Lab Strategy team
  • Drive DCCS working model (weekly staff and operations meetings); maintain a balanced calendar of team events; prepare presentations on behalf of CVP for executive, customer and partner audiences
  • Develop effective partnerships and work collaboratively with business partners (HR, Finance, Legal, Procurement etc.) to achieve team goals
  • In partnership with HR, develop and manage internal communications, such as Town Halls and organization announcements
  • Coordinate and manage key corporate deliverables on behalf of DCCS.  Example is workforce planning
  • Drive and enable a culture of innovation, teamwork and fun

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated technical team/project leadership success;
  • People leadership experience in the hi-tech industry
  • Proactive and results-focused
  • Skilled at developing and fostering a cohesive team and a strong network of business partners
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Action and results-orientation with the ability to make decisions quickly

Academic Credentials:

  • Undergraduate degree required, Applied Science Degree, PMP and/or MBA preferred
