THE ROLE

AMD is seeking a corporate communications professional to lead narrative development and communication strategies for the SVP of the Graphics and Engineering organization. This role involves planning and executing executive-level employee and external communications in a fast-paced, global environment. Success requires the ability to build trust and adapt to an executive's specific needs and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment across communication programs.
THE PERSON
The ideal candidate is a strategic communicator and exceptional writer with a strong ability to understand and simplify complex topics. This individual is intellectually curious, thrives in dynamic environments, and can manage multiple programs while adapting to shifting priorities. They have expertise in developing and executing holistic communication plans, providing executive-level communication support, and working cross-functionally with senior leaders, business function leads, and subject matter experts. Experience with graphics/GPUs or other processors is beneficial.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and execute executive communication strategies to support AMD's thought leadership and employee engagement goals.
- Support executive in preparing for keynote presentations, press briefings, major events, internal site visits, and all hands and town halls.
- Craft short- and long-form content across various mediums, including keynote presentations, scripts, talking points, social media posts, and executive emails.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the executive and his leadership team, providing strategic guidance on communication opportunities.
- Track metrics, prepare reports, and demonstrate ROI for communication activities.
- Balance competing priorities while maintaining confidentiality and delivering under tight deadlines.
- Assist with additional corporate communications projects and provide support to other communication leads for other AMD executives, on as needed basis.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- At least six years of corporate and executive communications experience, including advising and coaching senior leaders.
- Exceptional writing and content development skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience developing messaging for diverse audiences across media relations, social platforms, marquee events, and internal communications.
- Strong relationship-building skills and ability to drive cross-functional initiatives.
- Proven ability to plan ahead, anticipate needs and manage multiple projects under deadlines with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Experience in PowerPoint content creation and executive presentation/narrative development.
- Experience in public relations, corporate, or executive communications.
- Familiarity with graphics hardware is a plus but not required. Experience and high comfort level with hardware, software, technologies and technical concepts is preferred.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field preferred.
