THE ROLE:

AMD is seeking a Director, APJ AI Sales to lead AMD's Asia-Pacific & Japan AI strategy and execution across the region. This high-impact leadership role will be responsible for aligning & growing AMD's OEM ecosystem and infrastructure adoption including but not limited to, Dell, Cisco, Lenovo, HPE, Super Micro with the goal of maximizing engagement and mindshare, profitably growing revenue, and achieving market share gains.

 

THE PERSON:

As a key regional leader, you will align & influence a team of local matrixed reports as well as global stake stakeholders. This role requires a leader with deep expertise in strategic Customer Management, Business Development, and Cross-Functional Leadership within the AI ecosystem, with strong technical knowledge of AI including applications, software, and hardware architecture.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic AI Growth Leadership

  • Help define and execute AMD's AI go-to-market strategy across APJ.
  • Drive adoption of AMD's AI asset portfolio across large enterprises and government agencies.
  • Lead regional engagement & initiatives aligned with national AI strategies and sovereign compute programs.

Enterprise & Government Engagement

  • Build trusted relationships with CIOs, CTOs, and AI leaders in targeted Fortune 500 companies and public sector institutions.
  • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder engagements in sectors such as defense, healthcare, education, and smart infrastructure.
  • Influence AI policy, procurement frameworks, and national digital agendas.

Ecosystem & Partner Strategy

  • Develop strategic alliances with hyperscalers, national system integrators, OEMs, and AI software vendors.
  • Co-create AI solutions and reference architectures tailored to regional needs.
  • Represent AMD in AI consortiums, standards bodies, and public-private innovation forums.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing matrixed AI sales and business development team across APJ.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and customer-centricity.
  • Mentor and develop future AI leaders within AMD.

Revenue & Performance Management

  • Own regional sales  targets, ensuring alignment with AMD's overall revenue goals.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and scorecards to optimize efficiency.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong experience in enterprise technology sales, including in AI, HPC, or cloud infrastructure.
  • Proven success in leading large-scale AI or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with open-source AI ecosystems
  • Deep understanding of AI frameworks, data center architecture, and sovereign compute strategies.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence policy and procurement at the national level.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to navigate complex business environments and drive transformational growth
  • Executive presence with the ability to influence at all levels, from C-suite partners to internal leadership teams; ability to influence policy and procurement at the national level.
  • Ability to lead in a highly matrixed environment, driving collaboration across multiple business units.
  • Experience in managing large-scale partner programs, incentive structures, and channel enablement initiatives.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • BS, or higher, in Engineering (Computer or Electrical)
  • MBA a plus
