Director, EMEA Commercial Channel Category Manager   THE ROLE:

As a Director, Commercial Category Manager for EMEA at AMD, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing regional product and go-to-market strategies. With deep expertise in market dynamics, the competitive landscape, and AMD's technology portfolio, you'll identify growth opportunities, build data-informed business plans, and drive alignment across sales, marketing, and channel teams. You will translate global priorities into regionally tailored initiatives, support strategic account planning, and enable high-impact partner engagement and performance. This highly visible role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of insight, strategy, and execution—and is passionate about accelerating results.

  • Proven leader in category, product, or marketing strategy—ideally within the PC hardware and commercial channel space
  • Executive communication skills with the ability to influence internally and externally
  • Able to thrive in ambiguity and challenge status quo 
  • Experience managing sizable channel marketing budgets to maximize ROI and impact.
  • Significant background working with channel partners to develop plans to collaboratively grow our joint business.
  • Comfortable presenting to different audiences; customers and business/partner executives
  • Willing to travel up to 25% of the time
  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Analyze market trends and insights to identify business opportunities and risks. 
  • Monitor industry and competitor developments and foster technological acumen to maintain a competitive edge and stay updated on AMD's advancements and recommend partner strategies for growth. 
  • Collaborating with the Worldwide teams, you'll understand the latest device developments and articulate their value proposition. With a deep understanding of the market, competition, and technology, you'll build a visionary strategic plan encompassing product, readiness strategies, programs, and marketing. 
  • Develop and implement regionally tailored strategies that combine AMD's technology leadership with local market nuances and implement them, driving a world class orchestration with the sales & marketing teams supporting the channel partners in region 
  • Working closely with sales teams, you'll support the development of world-class account plans, support the customer journey and drive a consistent, strategic and cohesive approach 
  • Strong communication, empathy, and decision-making will be key to crafting effective, partner-first solutions. You'll drive sales & marketing strategies with partners, executing comprehensive plans and leveraging data to optimize performance and enhance online presence, jointly with Partner Development sales managers & marketers.  
  • Facilitating knowledge-sharing sessions, you'll empower employees and channel partners with industry insights and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. 
  • Maximizing return on investment, you'll develop strategies for Sales & Marketing campaigns, analyzing performance data and making data-driven recommendations to drive strong business outcomes. 

 

  PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Category Management Experience: Proven success in category management, product management, marketing strategy, business planning, product planning. An established background working in Server and Datacenter, Client, Graphics and/or CPU sales organization with progressive success scaling complex solutions through multiple channels a PLUS
  • Organizational Experience: Demonstrated background managing and expanding a category and attaining sales and profitability targets within a complex (e.g., multinational or matrixed) organization 
  • Partner Enablement: Extensive experience in Commercial channel partner sales enablement with proven track record of driving revenue and market share goals
  • GTM Strategy: Experience implementing Commercial Channel strategies that grow revenue base and market share
  • GTM Execution: Validated experience in developing and successfully executing sales plans and channel programs
  • EMEA Experience: Solid understanding of the broad EMEA market, and the cultural and business differences across different countries

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

BSEE or relevant technical degree, MSEE or MBA is preferred
