THE ROLE:
Join AMD's AECG team as a Director of Program Management, where you'll lead cross-functional initiatives that drive innovation and execution across our software and hardware release programs. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of AMD's productivity and customer success strategies.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and execution-focused leader with a passion for driving complex, cross-functional programs to successful completion. They combine a systems-level understanding of software and hardware development with strong organizational and communication skills. This individual thrives in fast-paced environments, aligns diverse teams around shared goals, and consistently delivers results that advance both product excellence and customer success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead strategic planning and execution of complex release programs across multiple business units
- Architect and drive process improvements such as the Voyager flow, Vivado Steering Committee, and Functional Safety spec sign-offs
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery
- Manage risk, issue resolution, and change control across programs
- Mentor and guide program managers, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Drive visibility through forums like Vivado Weekly Ops and Customer-sourced CR release criteria
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional release programs spanning software and hardware domains
- Proven ability to design, implement, and optimize program processes and governance frameworks (e.g., release flows, steering committees, and specification sign-off cycles)
- Experience collaborating across engineering, product management, and customer teams to ensure alignment, quality, and on-time delivery
- Strong background in risk management, issue resolution, and change control within large-scale, multi-team environments
- Familiarity with AMD/Xilinx design and development ecosystems such as Vivado is highly desirable
- Proficiency with project management and analytics tools including Jira, Confluence, MS Project Server, spreadsheets, Python, and data visualization platforms
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive clarity and alignment across diverse teams
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
