THE ROLE: 

As the Program Manager, you will have the opportunity to manage End-to-End ownership of overall solutions for enablement of power related solutions to support AMD's products. As a key contributor, you will be part of a leading team to work with key external partners to drive and improve AMD's industry-leading technologies to market.

THE PERSON: 

The right candidate will have solid knowledge of program management, with industry skills/knowledge of power solutions for AMD platforms such as battery chargers, USB Power delivery controllers and more.  You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/time zones as well engaging with our third-party vendors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Engage and drive 3rd party partners in the focus area of power sub-components, ensuring schedules, cost, and technical requirements are aligned to AMD requirements.
  • Collaborate with Internal architecture teams (SOC and Platform) to drive external 3rd party partners to develop and deploy solutions for AMD next generation platform requirements.
  • Collaborate with SOC and System architecture teams to define and deploy next generation power features/power architectures in support of AMD requirements.
  • Collaborate with power deployment and debug teams to drive partners to address any issues / problems found in their solutions in support of AMD platforms.
  • Plan and execute with 3rd party power ecosystem partners focusing on quality and deadlines. 
  • Drives completion of all required deliverables, with a focus on customer quality feedback and established deadlines 
  • Provides unique views of 3rd party power solution status updates and facilitates cross development team dependencies and communications. 
  • Collaborates with core teams and execution teams to identify areas that require special attention or escalations to identify corrective actions. 
  • Strong self-motivator, with a sense of urgency when needed and strong crisis management skills 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Proven knowledge of power architecture in a PC environment
  • Engineering understanding in the areas of battery chargers and USB power delivery
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexible working schedule to manage global power partners (Asia and North America emphasis) 
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin is an asset.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is desired accompanied with at least 5 years experience of working in the PC power ecosystem.
