THE ROLE:
AMD seeks an experienced, ambitious Facilities Engineer Sr. Manager to lead AMD and outsourced project managers globally. The candidate will:

  • Oversee AMD's global real estate capital plan, managing resources and budgets for worldwide project execution
  • Collaborate with business unit leads on facilities capital replacement, office, lab, and data center projects
  • Provide expertise in infrastructure design and lab development to support multigeneration product lines
  • Independently evaluate project requests and advise leadership on viability, approach, budget, and schedule, aligning with corporate and business unit goals
  • Manage project design, permitting, and construction using established processes and expertise
  • Exhibit assertive leadership and strong communication skills, balancing multiple business unit priorities with operational needs and partnering with stakeholders across all levels in design and construction
  • Drive continuous improvement in project planning, reporting, and delivery

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage daily client interactions, relationships, and expectations
  • Collaborate with local integrated facilities management team
  • Hold internal and external project managers accountable for high-quality delivery
  • Develop and enforce clear processes for consistent project execution, reporting, and closeout
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of facilities systems to communicate project requirements clearly
  • Prepare agendas, maintain master budgets and timelines, and secure stakeholder approvals
  • Comply with corporate, building, and client policies and procedures
  • Partner with building/facility personnel to meet quality, service, cost, and profit goals
  • Continuously improve skills and stay updated on industry best practices
  • Apply working knowledge of MEP concepts, systems, and designs for office, data centers, and electronics labs
  • Plan, execute, monitor, control, and close projects
  • Develop ROM-level project estimates for funding approvals based on program documents
  • Monitor project progress via site visits, procurement tracking, and GC weekly reports
  • Select and manage project teams and resources, including subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and partners through bidding and vendor selection
  • Review and approve requisitions, change orders, and invoices
  • Oversee documentation preparation and completion (contracts, close-outs, punch lists, etc.)
  • Follow AMD policies, obtain necessary approvals, navigate local permitting, and secure final project acceptance

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Project or construction management experience in a high-tech environment required:
    • Extensive experience directly related to an engineering/construction project accountability role
    • Extensive experience managing direct reports
    • Hands-on experience with tenant improvement construction projects preferred
  • Experience with managing technical infrastructure with respect to MEPSF systems preferred or any similar combination of education and experience
  • Certification in PE, AIA, LEED, or CMAA preferred
  • Solid understanding of the construction industry, terminology, codes, documentation, and design disciplines
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft suite
  • Proficiency with project management tools
  • Willing/able to travel
  • Strong organization with proven leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform duties under deadline pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Detail oriented and thorough
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline preferred
