THE ROLE:
This Finance Manager role is a high-visibility position within AMD's Finance organization. This role is responsible for Monthly Channel Revenue Accounting Close and technical accounting evaluation of revenue contracts. This role requires knowledge and application of technical accounting under ASC 606, SOX requirements and controls, execution of operational accounting and finance responsibilities, strong accounting and data analysis, involvement in integration projects related to newly acquired businesses, and cross functional collaboration.

The ideal candidate should have a bias for action, a high sense of collaboration, problem solving and analytical skills, and the ability make recommendations in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, we are looking for a teammate with leadership experience that will take ownership of the role, drive improvements in execution, and implement standardized work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
Technical Accounting & IT Projects
- Maintain up to date knowledge on U.S. GAAP revenue and SOX/ICFR literature.
- Conduct technical accounting reviews of new contracts and other revenue related accounting matters that arise
- Represent the Revenue Finance Team in IT projects that involve Channel revenue
- Understand and apply ASC 606 guidance to transaction allocation, deferral, and revenue recognition principles related to bundled transactions including Software, Maintenance/Support & Hardware Understand and apply ASC 606 guidance to NRE development transactions.
Business Partnering
- Partner directly with Sales Finance, Business Unit Finance and Legal teams on contractual terms and conditions and other technical revenue accounting matters
- Collaborate with Sales Finance, Business Unit Finance, Global Operations Finance, Customer Operations, Sales Operations, & IT on problem solving and driving revenue accuracy.
Close, SOX Controls & Audits
- Lead the monthly and quarter-end close process for Channel customers
- Lead and provide guidance in analysis of Channel revenue transactions
- Support SOX compliance for revenue controls and processes
- Support alignment with Global Internal Controls Compliance Organization
- Support internal and external financial / compliance audits
- Proactively drive for continuous revenue finance process improvement and communications and be a key team member on revenue related projects
PREFFERED EXPERIENCE:
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment and know how to prioritize
- Progressive experience in accounting related field
- Ideal candidate has previous experience working for a Big 4 Accounting Firm
- Public Accounting experience
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Proven leadership skills and experience in managing a team
- Proactive and results oriented
- Self-starter with positive attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office
- SAP S/4 and SAP RAR knowledge is a plus
ACADEMIC CREDITIALS:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in related discipline preferred
- Certified Public Accountant
