SENIOR SILICON DESIGN ENGINEER 

THE ROLE: 

AMD is seeking a capable and motivated IC CAD engineer to develop and maintain world-class physical verification flow in fast-paced production environment on the cutting edge of modern technology. 

THE PERSON: 

Successful candidate will develop CAD flow around EDA tools, qualify EDA tools and support users across multiple sites.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Develop new flow features around new EDA tools and tool capabilities
• Conduct evaluations of tool quality, tune the flow to get optimal results from existing tools and support the physical verification flow
• Deploy flows to design teams, work with design teams to help them take full advantage of the flow

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

• Expert knowledge of at least one EDA Physical verification tool ( Mentor Calibre, Synopsys ICV)

• Excellent communication and problem solving skills

• Excellent UNIX and scripting programming skills (Perl, TCL and/or Python)

• Strong understanding of digital circuits

• Experience with flow automation 

• Experience with version control software (e.g. perforce, git)

• Highly motivated, self-starter with good interpersonal skills

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

• Bachelors degree in EEE/ECE and 3 years Physical Design/Physical verification/CAD experience, or Masters degree and 1-2 years experience
