MTS SOFTWARE SYSTEM DESIGN ENGINEER
THE ROLE:
The right engineer will drive the success of power IP (Intellectual Property) and features in AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) products through leadership & coordination, resolution of technical dependencies, and achievement of schedule commits. This is a high-visibility and widely multi-functional role, spanning pre-silicon architecture to post-silicon implementation & product delivery.

The person should have hunger for understanding newer technologies and willing to take the untrodden path. The candidate should be able to work independently and also guide the team (as needed). The candidate should be able to communicate (both oral and written) and put across his ideas effectively.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the stakeholders to gather and understand the testing requirements, define a test plan/strategy and responsible for the execution of the test plans
- Domain expert who can develop/use test tools, automation scripts and frameworks for product testing and drive process initiatives, understand customer use case and configurations
- Be a technical mentor and leader for the team and independently drive tasks to closure by possessing strong debugging & troubleshooting skills
- Design and Develop test cases and test applications in C/C++ for new or existing features in a product, extract test cases from bug reports
- Responsible for the installation of OS ( Windows and Linux) and maintenance of the test harness/environment on various platforms
- Analyze and validate tests results- create reports of bug failures, validate bug fixes, follow up with stakeholders to ensure closure of bug reports, participate in debug and triage activities
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Strong expertise in python scripting language (e.g. Perl, python)
- Strong expertise of high-level languages i.e. C/C++
- Strong expertise of OS internals - Windows/Linux, OpenMP, Threading analysis
- Good knowledge of the product development lifecycle and system test process and exposure to SDLC
- Working knowledge on TensorFlow and PyTorch will be added advantage
Nice to Have (Optional)
- Knowledge of CPU profiling tools like perf, Intel Advisor, VTune, Nvidia Visual Profiler, Gprof etc.
- Knowledge of assembly language, Instruction Set Architecture
- Experience in performance analysis and debugging of HPC (High Performance Computing) applications and workloads
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Master's/Bachelor's Degree in Electronics/Computer Science or equivalent stream with 10-12 years of experience
