THE ROLE: 

AMD's NTSG - Network Technology Solutions Group which works on our AMD Pensando DPU technology has been adopted by some the industry's largest enterprise and cloud service providers across product generations. The AMD Pensando DPU's have been widely adopted, validated and tested as the front-end networking solution in some of the largest hyperscale data centers. AMD is looking for a specialized Network and System Administrator who is passionate about improving the reliability of our infrastructure and drive next generation of network operations/ system monitoring tools to provide high availability to engineering community.

THE PERSON: 

The ideal candidate should be having strong background in network and system administration to improve network and system reliability across engineering infrastructure. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • System maintenance:  Install, configure, update, and maintain hardware, software, and operating systems.   
  • Security:  Implement and manage security measures, including firewalls and access controls, and monitor for potential threats.   
  • Troubleshooting:  Diagnose and resolve technical issues, outages, and performance problems.   
  • User management:  Create, manage, and delete user accounts, and set user permissions and access levels.   
  • Backups and recovery:  Perform regular data backups and ensure the ability to recover systems in case of failure.   
  • Performance monitoring:  Monitor system performance and capacity to ensure optimal operation.   
  • Technical support:  Provide technical support and training to end-users on hardware and software. 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Strong network and system administration experience supporting large scale network infrastructure with hundreds of systems.
  • Linux and Windows system administration.
  • Routing and switching technologies.
  • Hands-on storage management (home directories, storage volume, backup etc..) 
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
