Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring Product Development Engineers to Develop and/or test electrical/electronic components, software, and/or systems for semiconductor products. Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for enhancements and new products. Develop software system testing or validation procedures, programming, or documentation for products. Integrate hardware and software systems and develop specifications and performance requirements. Analyze needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of hardware. Determine hardware compatibility and/or influence hardware design. Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product's lifestyle including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Under supervision, exercise limited judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design,

development, and testing various AMD products.

Qualifications: Degree required

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

Position requires experience in the following:

  • Product development cycles for microprocessors;
  • Unix or Linux environments;
  • C, C++, or Python;
  • CPU, GPU, or SoC architecture;
  • Software debugging in macOS, Linux, or Unix;
  • Object oriented design;
  • Data Structures; and
  • Design flows and methodologies used for chip verification.

Experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, or internship experience.
