THE ROLE:
As a Program Manager at AMD, you will oversee multiple IP projects, managing the delivery of IPs to SOC. These IPs are integrated into a variety of applications ranging from Laptops and Servers to Graphics cards and customized solutions. This is a dynamic, fast-paced role requiring effective coordination and management to meet critical product timelines and quality standards.

 

THE PERSON:
You are an organized individual with strong follow-through skills, adept at maintaining oversight over complex projects. With a background in Agile program management and familiarity with tools like Jira, you excel in organizing team activities to enhance efficiency and scalability. You have the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders effectively, ensuring smooth project progress and alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Efficient Organizer: Proficient in structuring team workflows and project activities for maximum efficiency and scalability.
  • Agile Expert: Experienced with Agile methodologies, leveraging tools and practices to enhance project flexibility and responsiveness.
  • Proactive Communicator: Strong in both written and verbal communication, capable of leading technical discussions and presenting complex information clearly and effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in developing project plans and schedules; develop and enhance processes for tracking projects and mitigating risks.
  • Support Engineering management in planning project human and computing resource needs.
  • Drive execution excellence by supporting Engineering management, focusing on key metrics like Time-to-Market, R&D Efficiency, and Silicon Quality Indicators.
  • Collaborate within the AMD Program Management community to track key metrics and support continuous process improvement.
  • Define and manage key budget and headcount deliverables/schedules, and drive cross-functional activities.
  • Manage horizontally across several functional organizations, including Finance and Human Resources.
  • Work closely with engineering counterparts across global sites to plan and align budget, headcount, and operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure the completion of all required deliverables, focusing on customer quality feedback and meeting established deadlines.
  • Collect, analyze, organize, and publish work performance data via dashboards and recurring status reports.
  • Exhibit strong motivation and a sense of urgency when necessary, demonstrating leadership capabilities.
  • Requires one evening phone call per week with regional partners.
  • Requires one international business trip annually.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in semiconductor industry project management, particularly in Silicon Chip/ASIC, or a background in design or verification within the semiconductor industry.
  • Proficiency in Agile Project Management and familiarity with industry-standard tools including Jira.
  • Strong presentation and leadership skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in managing complex, interrelated projects, programs, and functions.
  • Team player committed to meeting deadlines and thriving in a fast-paced multitasking environment.
  • Flexibility to work according to a global schedule to interact with teams in Asia, India, and North America.
  • PMP certification and Agile development or certification are bonuses.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering is desired.
