THE ROLE:
As a Sr. Operations Leader, you'll be leading workforce planning and budget management for a large engineering organization. This role is central to ensuring that our people and systems scale effectively together and can start to leverage AI-enabled processes to improve efficiency.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate will be highly data-driven and analytical, people-focused, and excited about leveraging modern tools, especially databases, AI and automation to streamline workflows, improve decision-making, and optimize resource allocation. Strong leadership skills, with ability to guide peers and influence cross-functional stakeholders. Excellent communication skills and presentation skills, experience working with engineers. Ability to work in cyclical high-pressure environment with competing priorities and tight turnaround times
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Headcount Strategy & Management
Partner with engineering leaders to plan, track, and optimize headcount across teams.
Develop workforce models that align with business goals, budgets, and growth forecasts.
Provide insights on staffing efficiency, skill gaps, and organizational structure improvements.
Identify operational processes where AI/automation can drive efficiency.
Establish KPIs to measure ROI of AI-enabled processes.
Operational Excellence
Analyze workflows and processes to maximize efficiency and balance people, process, and technology.
Ensure alignment between human resources and automated systems to maximize productivity.
Monitor operational metrics and develop dashboards for leadership visibility.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in operations management, with proven success in headcount planning and workforce optimization.
- Hands-on experience or interest in self-taught learning about AI tools and process automation (e.g., workforce analytics platforms, ERP/CRM AI features, or custom automation solutions).
- Analytical, self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented and results oriented with a data-driven mindset and experience building dashboards and forecasting models.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Undergrad degree required. Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Data Analytics, Engineering or related field (MBA or equivalent experience preferred).
